Getting to the root of the problem
Once you’ve learned how to listen to your body in a more deliberate way, you can then start to understand the story that your symptoms are telling you. A symptom is a red flag - your body is pleading “hey, pay attention to me!”. It’s time to get to the root cause of the problem, because everything is connected. You can slap on band-aid fixes but another issue can develop down the road if you don’t address why your body is showing you these signs in the first place.
"Like many women, I’ve gone through my own battles with digestive health, hormonal issues, and mental health. For years, my body gave me signs that I brushed aside. “It’s no big deal. It’ll go away,” I thought.
It wasn’t until my symptoms affected my daily life that I decided to do my research. I recorded my symptoms and pieced together everything I learned through my nutrition education, podcasts, conversations with other practitioners, colleagues, teachers, and friends, and the Internet."
PREPARE TO BE CURIOUS.
As children, we were always curious to learn and try everything, including mimicking the actions of our parents or older siblings. You were eager to ask questions. It’s time to tap into your inner ambitious inner child and get curious.
When seeking help, don’t be afraid to pose questions to yourself or your healthcare practitioner. Speak up for yourself. Don’t fear sounding crazy or naive because nobody knows your body better than you do. Develop an open and positive perspective, and allow yourself to experience the endless possibilities your mind and body crave.
It might be a tough journey ahead, but you’re up for the challenge.
We’re cheering for you, but you also need to cheer for yourself.
You’ve got this, girl.
